In the highlands of the Ukrainian Carpathians, in the Ivano-Frankivsk and Zakarpattia regions, there is a level 3 of avalanche danger. The press service of the State Emergency Service of Ukraine reports about it.
“Warning! Avalanche danger warning!
According to the UkrHydrometeorological Center, on February 7-8, due to snowfalls, further thaws, and rains, a significant avalanche danger (level 3) will remain in the highlands of Ivano-Frankivsk and Zakarpattia regions, ”the statement reads.
In two oblasts – Chernihiv and Sumy, night temperatures are expected to be below -20 degrees.
At the same time, heavy snow is forecast in a number of regions: Khmelnytsky, Ternopil, Ivano-Frankivsk, and Lviv regions.
Snowfalls will begin in the west of the country today and by Tuesday, February 9, will move to the east. The air temperature will drop to 23 degrees below zero in some places.
