The Minister of Health of Ukraine Maxim Stepanov announced through his daily message that in Ukraine, 1.249 million cases of coronavirus COVID-19 have already been recorded, a daily increase of 2.6 thousand on February 8, an increase over the previous day. At the same time, more people recovered than fell ill in a day, for the second day in a row – this trend persisted for almost four weeks, except for the data for February 6.
“2656 new cases of coronavirus COVID-19 have been registered in Ukraine as of February 9, 2021,” Stepanov said.
Over the past 24hrs, the coronavirus in Ukraine was detected in 2,656 people, 127 deaths were recorded, 8,865 patients recovered, and 865 people were hospitalized.
Among the new patients are 157 children and 229 nurses.
Almost three times more people recovered than fell ill in one day. From February 5, the number of new cases does not exceed 5,000 per day.
Yesterday, 30,901 tests for coronavirus were performed (including PCR – 17,658, ELISA – 13,243). Instead, 6,419,781 PCR tests have been performed in Ukraine since the beginning of the pandemic.
Over the last 24 hours, the largest number of confirmed cases was registered in Ivano-Frankivsk (525), Zakarpattia (276), Kyiv (243), Chernivtsi (194), and Zaporizhia (164) oblasts.
During the whole pandemic in Ukraine:
fell ill – 1,249,646 people;
recovered – 1,084,608 people;
fatalities – 23,771;
PCR tests were performed – 6,419,781.
