Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy announced that he has prepared three bills reforming the country’s justice.
The politician stressed that in the near future the documents will go to the Verkhovna Rada.
“The parliamentary vote for these documents will strengthen the principle of the rule of law and intensify the transformation of Ukrainian courts in the interests of the people,” the statement said.
The Office of the Head of State stressed that this will strengthen the justice of the courts in the country.
According to the first bill, the powers to challenge the acts of the central authorities will be transferred from the Kiev District Administrative Court (OASK) to the country’s Supreme Court (BC). In this case, the appeal will be considered by the Grand Chamber of the Supreme Court.
The second document states the need for a “mandatory test for virtue” of current and future members of the High Council of Justice. In addition, the text regulates the activities of the disciplinary inspectors’ service.
The third bill proposes to amend the Code of Administrative Offenses and introduce liability for failure to provide information at the request of the SCJ disciplinary inspector.
