At the Bronze Series World Athletics Tournament in Val de Reuil, France, Iryna Herashchenko won the high jump competition.
The 25-year-old Ukrainian was the only one in the sector to overcome the bar at the 190 cm mark. The Kyiv resident missed the next height, but could not cope with 1.96 m.
Our two-time winner of the European Youth Championships left the Olympic and world all-around champion Nafissat Thiam in second place. Despite a personal record of 196 cm in arenas and 202 cm in stadiums, the Belgian finished the competition with a result of 186 cm and shared the second step of the podium with Miria Vukovic from Montenegro.
Gerashchenko was among the winners of the athletics tournament in Poland.
