In April, the Ambassador of Ukraine to Austria Oleksandr Shcherba will present to readers an English-language book about Ukrainian political life “Ukraine vs. Darkness: Undiplomatic Thoughts” (Ukraine Against Darkness. Undiplomatic Thoughts).
It is noted that the ambassador’s book will be published in the series “Ukrainian Voices” by the German publishing house “Ibidem” in partnership with the American publishing house Columbia University Press.
The review before the publication of the book states that Oleksandr Shcherba described the modern relations between Ukraine and the West, the Russian-Ukrainian war, and the dilemmas of Ukrainian political life.
“The author describes the book as an attempt to explain Ukraine to the world and the world to Ukraine,” the embassy said in a statement.
Alexander Shcherba devoted more than twenty years of his life to the diplomatic service. Mr. Ambassador is also the author of the Ukrainian-language collection of articles “Vaccination against Darkness”, devoted to key issues of international and Ukrainian development. In a vivid journalistic manner, he presents his views on the most painful topics of Ukrainian life, analyzing them in terms of twenty years in the diplomatic service and long experience of living in countries such as Germany, Austria, and the United States.
