“According to the European Business Association, Ukraine last year was the lowest in terms of its trade with the European Union, while the foreign trade balance improved, that is, compared to previous periods, imports decreased and exports from the European Union increased,” said Schmigal. Ukraine’s trade with the European Union accounts for 41% of Ukraine’s foreign trade, meaning “it is our largest trading partner.”
The Prime Minister stated that during a recent working visit to Brussels, the Ukrainian side discussed with its European counterparts the possibility of expanding trade for Ukrainian businesses.
“Already more than 14,000 small and large Ukrainian companies export our products to the European Union,” the Prime Minister said. This list will only grow, and Ukrainian companies will be able to export their products to the European Union without quotas.”
According to the Government Statistics Department, in 2020 compared to 2019, imports of goods decreased by 11.0% to $ 54.10 billion.
