Canadian authorities imposed sanctions on nine military leaders who led a coup in Myanmar.
This came in response to the coup in Myanmar,
It should be noted that the Canadian sanctions imposed in agreement with the United Kingdom are part of a common response to clarify that “Canada will not accept the actions of the Myanmar army and their complete disregard for the will of the Myanmar people and their democratic rights.
These new steps come as part of the broader Canadian diplomatic efforts to find a positive change in Myanmar as well as solidarity with the people of Myanmar and their aspirations for a democratic future.
It is worth noting that the previous penalties are still in effect.
Whereas, under the restrictions, all property of unauthorized persons in Canada will be frozen and prevented from entering the country.
