FC Cherkasy Region has refused to continue playing in the Second Football League of Ukraine.

On the eve of the resumption of the competition, the PFL received a letter from the United Professional Football Club of Cherkasy and the territorial communities of Cherkasy region “Cherkasy”. The general director of the club Yuriy Kolesnik stated that “Cherkasy” will not be able to finish the current championship.
During December 2020 – January-February 2021 OPFC Cherkasy region carried out various organizational and legal measures to continue the participation of the Cherkasy region in the second round of the Ukrainian Football Championship of the 2020/2021 season among professional teams of the second League. We even addressed the head of the regional state administration and the head of the regional council. But the problem was not solved. Therefore, we inform you that the team of OPFK “Cherkasy region” will not be able to take part in the second round of the Ukrainian Football Championship among professional teams of the second league of the 2020/2021 season, “the club said in a statement.
“Cherkasy” with 19 points in 10 matches played was in fifth place in Group B of the second league.
