The Minister of Health of Ukraine Maxim Stepanov stated in his daily message that in Ukraine, 1.416 million cases of coronavirus COVID-19 have already been registered, the daily increase over March 9 was almost 6.4 thousand, doubling the number of cases compared to the day before. At the same time, the number of hospitalized per day is 1.9 thousand.

“Over the past 24hrs, the coronavirus was detected in 6,377 people in Ukraine. Among the new COVID patients are 309 children and 263 health workers,” Stepanov said.

During the day, almost twice as many Ukrainians became infected than the day before, when there were 3,621 cases. In addition, the number of patients per day exceeded the number of those who recovered. This trend has been observed for the last two weeks.

A total of 1,904 people were hospitalized per day, 219 deaths, and 5,687 patients recovered. It is worth noting that for the first time since January 21, more than 200 fatalities were recorded in Ukraine.

Most infections were found in Kyiv (644), Odesa (586), Vinnytsia (575), Chernivtsi (533), and Lviv (523) oblasts.

During the whole pandemic in Ukraine:

sick – 1,416,438 people;

recovered – 1,204,916 people;

fatalities – 27,423;

PCR tests were performed – 7,188,346.
