Kiev. Ukraine. Ukraine Gate – March 14, 2021 – Forums and Conferences
Taras Kachka announced two important events this year that will significantly affect Ukraine’s international course of participation in ensuring international security and involvement in the EU’s single “green course”.
The first event is the UN Summit on Food Systems.
This is the part of the discourse that we need to articulate as clearly as possible in the international arena. We are a major player in providing food systems. Currently, outside of Ukraine, we provide for 150 million people, but we are not alone. Therefore, the issues of efficiency and unity of agriculture in the issue of climate and transport are very important. We need to effectively and clearly define our place and role in the global food systems of the world, “said the Deputy Minister of Economic Development, Trade, and Agriculture of Ukraine.
The second event, according to Taras Kachka, will take place at the end of the year.
26th Conference on the Framework Convention on Climate Change. It will discuss the national contribution to combating climate change, ie reducing greenhouse gas emissions. Agriculture is an important part of reducing emissions: it is about crop production, livestock, forests, and soils in general, – he explained.
It will be recalled that the Council will submit a package of bills on the implementation of the “green course” of Europe. At the end of 2019, the European Commission published the European Green Deal (EU Green Deal) – a document that should make the European continent neutral to climate change. AgroPolit.com found out what consequences the innovation of the EU has for the agro-industrial complex of Ukraine and other industries. Read about it in the material at the link. Earlier, Foreign Minister Dmytro Kuleba voiced two tasks within the framework of the green course.
