Ingredients:
Sponge:
250 g of wheat flour
250 ml of water
5 g of compressed yeast
Dough:

2 st. l. oil
2 tsp. vanilla sugar
1 tsp. salt
Additionally:
2 st. l. water
1 tsp. sugar
1/2 tsp. poppy
Cooking time: 7 hours
Step by step preparation:
- Fill fresh yeast with warm water and leave for 7-10 minutes to activate them. Then add 250 g of sifted flour and mix well. Cover the dough with a towel and leave it in a warm place for 3.5-4 hours.
- The mass will increase several times. Add oil, salt, granulated sugar, and vanilla sugar to the mash. Mix well. Sift 250 g of flour and knead an elastic dough. Knead by hand for about 10 minutes. Cover with a towel and put in a warm place for one and a half to two hours. Every half an hour, roll the dough so that it fits better, and the finished braid turned out more airy.
- Spread the dough on the table. Divide it into three equal parts and form a plait from each piece. The dough can be rolled out with a rolling pin and then rolled into a tube. From three plaits we make a plait. Do not do it tightly, because the dough will fit, and in the process of baking the braid will break. Pinch the edges well and tuck down. Cover with a towel and leave for another 30-40 minutes.
- Mix water with sugar, grease the bun on top, and sprinkle with poppy seeds. Bake for 25 minutes at a temperature of 200 ° C.
