According to preliminary data, Vasyl Virastyuk, a strongman from the “Servant of the People”, is leading in the by-elections to the Verkhovna Rada in the окру87 constituency in Ivano-Frankivsk region.
After processing 29.91% of the protocols, Virastyuk had 33.86% of the votes. This is evidenced by the data published on the CEC website.
In second place was the candidate from the “Freedom” Ruslan Koshulynsky, who received 28.21% of the vote.
Alexander Shevchenko from “For the Future” takes third place, he has 27.31%.
By-elections in the 87th constituency:
On November 17, 2020, the Verkhovna Rada prematurely terminated the powers of the People’s Deputy Zinovy Andriyovych. He was a member of the Servant of the People faction and was elected to parliament in the Ivano-Frankivsk oblast’s 87 districts.
In the local elections held on October 25, 2020, Andriyovych was elected mayor of Nadvirna, Ivano-Frankivsk region.
Elections in 87 constituencies took place on March 28. Oleksandr Shevchenko from the For the Future party ran in this constituency, and Ruslan Koshulynsky, the former Deputy Speaker of the Verkhovna Rada, ran for the Svoboda party.
On February 11, the congress of the SN party nominated Virastyuk as a candidate in the 87th constituency, and on February 23, the CEC officially registered Vasyl Virastyuk from the Servant of the People party as a candidate for people’s deputies.
