The 12th Odessa International Film Festival (OIFF) will take place in August 2021.
It is noted that the OIFF changed its management at the beginning of this year. In particular, the executive director was Anna Machukh, who previously worked as the director of the marketing department of the OIFF, the director of the film market, and also managed the strategic development of the festival.
Machukh was also the executive director of the Ukrainian Film Academy and co-founder of the online platform for the audiovisual sector DzygaMDB. Kateryna Zvezdina has been appointed OIFF Operational Director, and Oleksandr Kholodenko has been appointed Strategic Development Director.
It is planned to create an independent selection committee at the festival, which will be headed by Alik Shpyliuk, a former program director and consultant of the OIFF.
According to OIFF President Victoria Tigipko, last year due to the coronavirus pandemic, the festival was held online.
“Even then we understood that in general, the festival needs radical changes. Therefore, this year we started with the development of a completely new development strategy … The 12th OIFF will be definitely different, but we leave the main thing – the best films of Ukraine and the world and, of course, our unique atmosphere, which this year we can all feel again in the summer in Odessa, “Tigipko said.
In turn, Machukh added that the 12th film festival will take place offline, but in a changed format.
The 11th Odessa International Film Festival was held online from September 25 to October 3, 2020.
