Kiev. Ukraine. Ukraine Gate – January 28, 2021 – Sport
Ukrainian Artem Prima entered the top 10 individual race of the European Biathlon Championship, which takes place in Dushnyky-Zdroj, Poland.
Prima did not close three targets on the first two firing lines and became the sixth. Bohdan Tsymbal managed to win 18th place also with three shooting errors. Ruslan Tkalenko was 21st (2 open targets).
The winner of the first men’s race was Andriy Rastorguev from Latvia. One minute of the penalty on the first line did not prevent the Latvian biathlete from almost one and a half minutes to “bring” at the finish to the nearest rival – Norwegian Erlen Bönthegora. Another Norwegian, Endre Stromsheim, finished third.
For Rastorguev, this is the third “gold” of the European Championships – he previously won in 2014 in Nove Mesto and in 2018 in Ridnau-Val-Ridanna.
January 28 at the European Open is a day of rest, after which on the 29th athletes will compete in sprints.
Anastasia Merkushina became the vice-champion of Europe in the biathlon.
