The debt of the population of Ukraine for housing and communal services at the end of December 2020 amounted to 73 billion hryvnias.
Such information is given in the express release of the State Statistics Service on payment of housing and communal services by the population.
“By the end of December 2020, the debt of the population to pay for the supply and distribution of natural gas amounted to UAH 31.5 billion, for the supply of heat and hot water – UAH 24.1 billion, for the supply and distribution of electricity – UAH 6.1 billion, for centralized water supply and drainage – UAH 5.7 billion, for the management of an apartment building – UAH 5.1 billion, for the provision of services for the removal of household waste – UAH 1.1 billion, “- said in the message.
At the end of December, the population concluded 4.2 thousand agreements on debt repayment for a total of UAH 31.1 billion.
The National Commission for State Regulation in the Spheres of Energy and Utilities (NKREKU) allowed NEC Ukrenergo to again fine electricity suppliers for debts. The regulator adopted such a resolution at a meeting on January 27, Ukrenergo reports.
“From February 1, NEC Ukrenergo resumes application of penalties (penalties) to suppliers of universal services, stipulated by agreements on the provision of services for the transmission of electric energy and dispatch (operational-technological) management,” it was reported.
The company recalled that in case of violation of the terms of payment, the PCB can charge a market participant a penalty of 0.1% of the amount of late payment for each day of delay. In the case of transfer services, for a delay of more than 30 calendar days, an additional penalty of 7% of the amount of the delayed payment is charged.
In 2020, gas market participants owed 1.6 billion to the GTS operator for gas pumped out of the GTS.
“In 2020, 2.4 billion cubic meters of gas was withdrawn from the system of gas pipelines in the amount of UAH 10.4 billion, but only 80% was paid,” the statement said.
The main debtors to OGTSU are operators of gas distribution networks (city and regional gas companies). At the end of 2020, their total debt is UAH 14 billion.
There are 43 operators of gas distribution networks in the Ukrainian market, of which only a third is paid for the service provided in a timely manner, noted on the operator’s websites.
