Prime Minister Denis Shmygal said that in the next eight to nine years, the government plans to catch up with neighboring countries in terms of wages. In particular, Poland and Slovakia.
“The most important task set by the government is to reach the level of our neighbors from Poland or Slovakia by 2030 in terms of average salaries,” Shmygal wrote on the social network.
He added that in December 2020, real salaries increased by 10% compared to December 2019 and amounted to 14.2 thousand hryvnias.
According to open data, as of the end of 2020, the average salary in Poland was PLN 5,411 per month, equivalent to $ 1,439 or UAH 40,573. As for Slovakia, the average salary in this country is estimated at $ 1,423 or 40,118 hryvnias.
According to the State Statistics Service, the average salary in Ukraine for the year increased by 15.6% and last month amounted to 14,179 UAH or $ 502.
Earlier, Denis Shmygal said that this year Ukrainians will
be able to take a mortgage at 7% per annum, the government has approved a mechanism.
