The Verkhovna Rada is recommended not to increase the salaries of members of election commissions. This decision was made by the committee on the organization of state power, local government, regional development.
The committee did not support the corresponding bill # 4124. The document proposes changes to the Electoral Code.
The law provided for an increase in the wages of members of election commissions who exercise their powers in the election commission on a paid basis, as well as all members of the commission on election day, on the day of repeat voting, and on the days when the voting results were determined.
“The members of the committee, despite the fact that the adoption of the bill affects the budget and will lead to an increase in its expenditure side, generally supported the idea and purpose of the bill to establish a fair amount of remuneration for members of election commissions,” the statement says.
However, the people’s deputies insist on the inexpediency of making “point” changes to certain provisions of the Electoral Code.
It is indicated that at one of the next meetings of the committee, it is planned to create a working group that will work out comprehensive amendments to the legislation on elections.
In addition, the authors of the project did not comply with the requirements of the Budget Code and the BP Regulations, which provide for mandatory introduction to draft laws affecting budget indicators, financial and economic justification, and corresponding calculations.
“The members of the committee decided to recommend to the Verkhovna Rada the bill No. 4124, based on the results of consideration in the first reading, to reject and return to resolving the issue of remuneration of members of election commissions in the format of developing joint proposals by members of the working group,” the statement says.
