Spicy chicken wings, famous for the famous chain of fast-food restaurants KFC, you can cook yourself. The marinade will require simple spices, more spicy chili to make the chicken “fiery”, and a little milk, which will add tenderness to the meat and balance the taste.
Ingredients:
1 kg of chicken wings
1.5 cups of wheat flour
0.5 cups cornstarch
0.5 cups of cold water
5 st. l. milk
4 st. l. spicy sauce or ketchup
2 st. l. wine or apple cider vinegar
2 tsp. red chili peppers
1 tsp. ground black pepper
1.5 tsp. salt
1 head of garlic
1 egg
frying oil
Cooking time: 2 hours
Step by step preparation:
- Wash the wings and divide them into three parts. We put aside the smallest phalanx, we will not need it in this recipe.
- In a bowl with wings add 1 tsp. salt, 1 tsp. ground black pepper, 1 tsp. ground chili pepper, 2 tbsp. l. wine or apple cider vinegar, 5 tbsp. l. milk, 4 tbsp. l. any spicy sauce or ketchup. Pass the garlic head through the press. Mix everything well. It is best to use a glove, as the mixture is quite sharp. Cover the bowl with the wings in the marinade with cling film and place in the fridge for at least an hour. Then add one egg and mix well again.
- In a separate bowl, mix flour and cornstarch. Most often they are combined in a ratio of 1: 3 or 1: 5. Here we add the remnants of salt and pepper. Mix everything well.
- Remove the wings from the marinade and roll in the dry mixture. When all the wings have been rolled for the first time, add half a glass of water to the marinade, stir and repeat the procedure. So the batter will be multilayered and on the finished wings will appear characteristic crispy flakes. Thanks to the breaded starch, the oil does not soak into the wing and there is no excess fat in the finished meat.
- Heat the oil in a saucepan or frying pan with a high board. The quantity depends on the volume of the dishes. Fry the wings in a deep fryer over medium heat. One serving will take about 10-12 minutes, focus on color. The finished wings are spread on a paper towel or napkin to remove excess fat. Crispy sharp wings are ready!
