Zelensky’s impeachment initiative was called a provocation.
Presidential spokeswoman Julia Mendel said the opposition was seeking to provoke a crisis in the country. In addition, according to Mendel, the initiators of the impeachment allegedly want to protect the assets of the deputy.
Zelensky’s impeachment procedure was launched by the parliamentary party “Opposition Platform – For Life”.
The reason was sanctions against the channels and MP Taras Kozak. These actions of the President of Ukraine were called unconstitutional, as the restrictions violate the right to freedom of thought and speech.
The UN reminded Kyiv of the signs of a healthy democracy. There must be votes in the country for and against the government.
Ukrainian channels appealed to the PACE, the EU, and the OSCE, as well as to human rights organizations. The companies reported pressure on the media.
