According to the recommendations of endocrinologist Alina Almaskhanova, prolonged refusal to use salt is very harmful to the body.
Salt is often called the “white death” and, deciding to follow a healthy diet, many people think about giving it up. However it is impossible to exclude spice from a diet completely, – the doctor Alina Almaskhanova warned about it.
Prolonged rejection of salt, which creates a deficiency of sodium in the body, adversely affects its functions and health, reduces the quality of life, says the expert.
The doctor explained what happens to the body if it does not receive the right amount of salt for a long time.
“In this case, water and potassium are intensively excreted, which increases the load on the kidneys. There is a headache, there is weakness, nausea, indigestion, blood pressure drops, dizziness regularly, “- warned the specialist.
According to Almaskhanova, the refusal of salt – if it is practiced – should not exceed three days a week. In particular, it can be used by people whose diet contains many foods high in salt. Short-term salt intake can help them get rid of excess fluid, edema.
To refuse a spice for a period of more than two or three months the doctor categorically does not recommend. The expert stressed that the nervous and muscular systems of the body need sufficient sodium.
