American jazz pianist and composer Chick Corea died Tuesday at the age of 79. This was stated on Thursday in a statement published on the official website of the musician.
“It is with the greatest sadness that we report that Chick Coria died on February 9 at the age of 79 from a rare form of cancer that was only recently diagnosed,” the statement said.
Coria is the founder and leader of the jazz fusion group Return To Forever, winner of 23 Grammy Awards.
At the end of 2020, French jazzman Claude Bolling, who wrote music for many French films, died.
