In Uzbekistan, from January 1, 2013, all organizations will use the Uzbek alphabet based on Latin graphics.
A resolution of the Uzbek government (№ 61 of 10.02.2021) approved a “road map” to ensure a gradual transition to the Uzbek alphabet based on Latin.
Thus, a draft normative legal document based on Latin will be developed, aimed at ensuring a gradual transition to the Uzbek alphabet.
A draft resolution of the Government on the approval of the “Spelling norms of the Uzbek language” will also be created on the basis of a new edition of the Uzbek alphabet in Latin font.
The government will ensure the complete conversion of official websites to the Uzbek alphabet based on Latin. Also, according to the new rules, identity cards, working documents, various forms, places, streets, deadlines, names of organizations, fronts, mass media, advertising, and announcements in Uzbekistan will be issued.
The activities of central, local print and electronic media, Internet sites, publishing houses, printing companies will also be translated into the Uzbek alphabet on the basis of full Latin.
President of Kazakhstan Nursultan Nazarbayev has approved changes to the decree on the translation of the Kazakh alphabet from Cyrillic to Latin.
