The Popyk family from the village of Tseniv in the Koziv district grows exotic fruits in a greenhouse. The family has been involved in this business for 11 years. According to gardener Stepan Popyk, most of them have lemons in their greenhouse.
Ripe fruits of lemons, which are grown by the couple, reach one and a half kilograms, according to the story of the Public.
“Our lemon fruit is very juicy and fragrant. The value of “Kiev” lemon is that it contains three times more vitamin C than ordinary lemons that lie on the shelves. The peel is very fragrant. It can be used for baking, it can be dried for tea, ”says the gardener’s wife Lesya Popyk.
According to Lesya Popyk, in addition to lemons, they have cuttings of tangerines and oranges.
Temperatures in their greenhouse range from 18 degrees in summer to 35 in winter. Plants are propagated by grafting. Then the cuttings are transplanted: “When the cuttings are already rooted in us, we transplant them into pots, and our lemons are ready to grow.”
Popyky also grows oranges and tangerines, pineapples, and dwarf bananas. And also from the tree collect a crop of coffee beans.
“We have Arabica. The taste of coffee is very good, tender, ”says Stepan Popyk.
