One of the biggest drawbacks of Android TV was the lack of creating multiple virtual users within the operating system, which meant that when used by multiple users, the TV would mix all the content together. Google was expected to fix this with the launch of Google TV, but it turned out that this feature was not added.
However, it has now become known that Chromecast from Google TV will receive support for Kids Profile, ie a specialized children’s profile. In fact, this can not be called a full-fledged ability to create multiple virtual users, but the feature allows you to share content for children and adults.
It is already known that this feature should appear on Chromecast with Google TV as early as next month. As a result, Google TV will have a safe place for children, and the exit will require a special PIN code, so children will not be able to access the parent profile.
A Google spokesman said last October that he planned to add support for multiple virtual users to Google TV, adding that adding this feature was a high priority, but did not say when to expect it to be released. It is expected that the chip will be presented soon and will be available for Android TV.
