Microsoft has begun testing the streaming of xCloud games in browsers. This will allow you to play games that were developed for the Xbox, on any device, including iPhone and iPad.
xCloud is already available on some Android smartphones and tablets. The web version, which can be launched on iOS devices in particular, includes a complete library of Xbox Game Pass Ultimate, a simple launcher with recommendations, as well as the ability to restore a recently launched game.
For now, the capability is limited to Chromium-based testers and browsers such as Chrome or Microsoft Edge. All xCloud titles that are broadcast through the browser run in full screen. The game will require a compatible controller.
What resolution Microsoft uses for gaming is unclear, and it’s hardly 4K. Sources at The Verge claim that Microsoft uses Xbox One S blade servers, so full-fledged 4K image transfer is not yet possible.
