The Ministry of Economy has developed and published for public discussion a draft order “On approval of the Procedure for the use of antimicrobial drugs in veterinary medicine.”

The document defines the rules and conditions of the use of antimicrobial drugs in veterinary medicine, the responsibilities of persons who use antibiotics; a list of cases where the use of antibiotics is prohibited, as well as measures to reduce the use of antimicrobials.
Adoption of the order will ensure the rational use of antimicrobial drugs in veterinary medicine, which will help prevent problems such as the resistance of microorganisms to antibiotics.
“Approval of the Procedure will help regulate the circulation and use of antimicrobial drugs, as well as avoid cases of unjustified use. As a result, it will have a positive impact on the health of not only animals but also people, “said Deputy Minister Serhiy Glushchenko.
