Finnish President Sauli Niinist has criticized the European Union‘s policy on purchasing coronavirus vaccines.
Niinist said the European Union should better provide a centralized supply of coronavirus vaccines.

In this regard, the President of Finland said, “What vaccines have been requested and what are the commitments made? There is no doubt that European Union officials should have been more successful in this matter, and there are examples of countries that have achieved more vaccines than the European Union.
He described an “interesting” idea of some countries purchasing COVID vaccines themselves.
“Some European Union countries, such as Hungary, the Czech Republic, and Slovakia, have used their medical powers to circumvent the overall approval process of the European Union,” the Finnish leader said. However, he indicated that he could not comment on the quality of individual vaccines.
Since the start of the global vaccination campaign against the Coronavirus, 114 countries have reportedly received 304 million doses of the vaccine.
