The President reported that the President of the European Council had discussed an extensive and very rich agenda of relations between Ukraine and the European Union.
“Ukraine remains fully committed to the effective implementation of the Association Agreement, but also seeks to use its flexibility to become more fully integrated into the internal market of the European Union,” said Zelensky.
He said that during today’s meeting, the parties checked around the clock on the progress made in implementing the agreements reached during the EU-Ukraine summit last year.
“Among them are the review of the Association Agreement, integration into the European Union’s Common Market, the Common Aviation Area Agreement, total financial assistance, and the transition to such an important system without a visa,” the president of Ukraine said. I am confident that thanks to our regular dialogue with the European Union institutions there are challenges, and we will be able to implement what is planned before this year’s 23rd summit, which will be held in Kiev.”
In the end, he thanked Michel for the frank, fruitful, and warm dialogue.
Zelensky said:
“It is very important for me that I, Mr. President, have a common vision regarding further tasks and priorities on the way to Ukraine’s integration into the European Union. This is a good basis for further work, and I’m sure for very good results, ”he said.
