On the occasion of International Women’s Day, the ambassador spoke on the topic of “The Middle East and the Abraham Agreements”, about “her pride in representing a country in which the promotion of women’s rights has always been a priority for His Majesty and his distinguished predecessors, and in which the constitution enshrines equality between men and women.”
In this context, Moroccan diplomacy raised many examples of female personalities who printed the history of the Kingdom, including Fatima Al-Fihri, who founded the Al-Qarawiyyin Mosque in 859 AD, and Her Royal Highness Princess Lalla Aisha, who was the first ambassador to the Arab world when she represented Morocco in the United Kingdom during the 1960s.
Alaoui stressed that “our two countries’ endeavors to consolidate their partnership in all sectors should be accompanied by encouraging the participation of women,” noting that “the achievements made thanks to these agreements, which extend over time, should include women.”
