In Germany, quarantine restrictions have been relaxed.
As of today, book and flower shops, garden shops, beauty salons, driving schools, and pilot schools have reopened in the country.
The rest of the shops, except for food and pharmacies, as well as hotels, restaurants, and other establishments will remain closed.
In addition, meetings of up to five people from two households, not counting children under 14, are allowed.
However, every citizen will have the opportunity once a week to take a free rapid test for coronavirus. Further measures to lift the restrictions will depend on the implementation of the concept of regular population testing.
The daily increase in coronavirus infections in Germany is just over 5,000 cases, according to the Robert Koch Institute (RKI). A total of 2,505.1 thousand cases of infection have been detected in Germany since the beginning of the epidemic. In the last 24 hours, 34 people have died from COVID-19, the total number of deaths in the country of 83 million is 71 thousand 934. More than 2.3 million people have recovered.
In the last 7 days, per 100 thousand population, 68 cases of infection were registered – more than the day before (66.1). On December 22, 2020, this indicator reached the highest value – 197.6.

According to the Worldometer coronavirus monitoring resource, almost 117.5 million cases of COVID-19 have been reported worldwide since the beginning of the pandemic. More than 2.6 million people died.
