According to the message of the Minister of Health of Ukraine Maxim Stepanov, in Ukraine, 1.5 million cases of coronavirus disease COVID-19 have already been recorded, the daily increase for March 17 – 15 thousand, the largest since the beginning of the year. The number of hospitalized per day is 4.37 thousand.

As of March 17, 15053 new cases of coronavirus were confirmed in Ukraine, including 744 in children and 425 in medical staff. This is the largest daily number of cases recorded in 2021.
On Wednesday, 4,376 people were hospitalized with coronavirus, 267 deaths were recorded. Another 6514 Ukrainians managed to recover. Over 53,000 PCR tests, 21.7 thousand ELISA tests, and 43.9 thousand antigen tests were performed during the day.
“Over the last 24 hours, the largest number of confirmed cases was registered in Kyiv (1092), Zhytomyr (1398), Lviv (1092), Odesa (997), and Khmelnytsky (800) oblasts,” Stepanov said.
During the whole pandemic in Ukraine:
fell ill – 1,504,076 people;
recovered – 1,244,190 people;
fatalities – 29,253;
PCR tests were performed – 7,520,147.

Data from the temporarily occupied territories of the Autonomous Republic of Crimea, Donetsk, Luhansk oblasts, and the city of Sevastopol are missing.
According to Worldometer, a resource that monitors the situation with the coronavirus in the world, Ukraine ranks 17th in terms of prevalence and 19th in terms of the number of deaths from COVID-19.
