15,850 New Cases of COVID-19 in Ukraine

The Minister of Health of Ukraine Maxim Stepanov announced that in Ukraine, 1.519 million cases of coronavirus disease COVID-19 have already been recorded, the daily increase for March 17 – 15.8 thousand, the largest since the beginning of the year. At the same time, the number of hospitalized per day, as the day before, was 4.4 thousand.

In Ukraine, the highest number of cases of coronavirus since the beginning of 2021 was confirmed – 15,850. 830 children and 401 health workers became ill.

On Thursday, 4,444 people were hospitalized with the coronavirus, 262 died. Another 4,592 Ukrainians overcame the disease. During the day, 53.3 thousand PCR tests were performed, 21.2 thousand – ELISA, and 40.6 thousand – antigen tests.

Since the beginning of the pandemic, 1.5 million Ukrainians have contracted the coronavirus and 1.2 million have recovered. 29515 fatalities were recorded.

“Over the last 24 hours, the largest number of confirmed cases was registered in Kyiv (1210), Lviv (1140), Kyiv (1134), Kharkiv (1085), and Vinnytsia (948) oblasts,” Stepanov said.

Kirovohrad region – 158 cases;

Luhansk region – 147 cases;

Lviv region – 1,140 cases;

Mykolaiv region – 419 cases;

Odessa region – 935 cases;

Poltava region – 543 cases;

Rivne region – 443 cases;

Sumy region – 489 cases;

Ternopil region – 628 cases;

Kharkiv region – 1,085 cases;

Kherson region – 141 cases;

Khmelnytsky region – 855 cases;

Cherkasy region – 536 cases;

Chernivtsi region – 584 cases;

Chernihiv region – 347 cases.

Data from the temporarily occupied territories of the Autonomous Republic of Crimea, Donetsk, Luhansk oblasts, and the city of Sevastopol are missing.

Today there are 241,629 active patients in Ukraine, their number has increased by 10,996 over the last 24 hours, according to the National Security and Defense Council map.
