Google has introduced a new feature to help users learn more about websites that appear when they use its search engine. From today, US residents will be able to learn additional information about the site directly in the search results.
An icon consisting of three dots will appear next to the search result. Clicking on it, whether you use a mobile phone or a computer, will open a description of the website.
In most cases, this information is taken from Wikipedia, unless Google specifies another service. If Google can’t find information about the site, users will see basic information, such as when it was first indexed. In each case, it will indicate whether the connection to the site is secure via HTTPS.
According to Google, this feature allows you to do several things. First, it eliminates the need for users to perform a second search to find out about the website they are going to visit. Second, these menus provide confidence in the accuracy of the information.
