The economic sentiment index in the first quarter of 2021 worsened compared to the fourth quarter of 2020, the head of the NBU Council Bohdan Danylyshyn said on Facebook, commenting on the data of the State Statistics Service.
“The worst dynamics are shown by the indicators of sentiment in the spheres of construction and services, as well as the indicator of consumer confidence,” he said.
Danylyshyn stressed that a factor in the deterioration of consumer sentiment is the growth of wage arrears, which on January 1, 2021 increased to UAH 3.1 billion, which is its highest value on the corresponding date in 20 years (since 2001).
