The share of Ukrainian peas in the global structure was 4% in 2020.
“India was the number one consumer of Ukrainian peas in previous years, but in the 2019/2020 season the situation changed, and Ukraine sent more than 40% of the total pea exports to the European Union countries,” said UkrAgroConsult General Manager Sergei Fyofilov.
Sergey also indicated that the decline in the share of Ukrainian pea production in the global structure to 4%, was due to the large size of them in the Indian market.
Sergey also added that the area under the peas in Ukraine is much larger than in other legumes in the Black Sea region.
