According to state regional administrations, potato production in 2020 amounted to 20.7 million, said the head of the Department of Agriculture and Plant Breeding in the Ministry of Economy Serhiy Shupyk during the XI Dutch-Ukrainian Forum on Professional Potato.

He noted that the main producers of potatoes are the following areas: Vinnytsia produced 1.9 million tons, Zhytomyr – 1.8 million tons, Lviv – 1.6 million tons, Kiev – 1.5 million tons.
“The average yield for 2015-2020, according to the State Statistics Service, for all categories of farms was 164 centners per hectare, including 226 centners per hectare in agricultural enterprises, 163 centners per hectare – in households. The highest yields were recorded in Rivne, Khmelnytsky, Zhytomyr and Poltava regions, “said Serhiy Shupyk.
He also noted that in 2020, according to regional state administrations, there is a significant drop in potato yield in Ukraine to 157 centners per hectare.
