Lithuanian Foreign Minister Gabrielius Landsbergis believes that the Lublin Triangle initiative, which unites Ukraine, Lithuania and Poland, brings Ukraine closer to Europe.
He said this during an interview with Radio Liberty.

“I think this format is very useful, I am sure this format can be expanded and can cover more than just politics as we can also discuss shared history, geopolitics, economics, and more,” he said.
He said that such communication allows us to structure our cooperation to some extent … and this is certainly very beneficial and brings Ukraine closer to European integration.
He also believes that the Crimean Platform initiative “is crucial not only to find concrete solutions but also to a reminder of the [Crimea] problem.”
As a reminder, the Lublin Triangle is a tripartite form of interaction between Ukraine, Lithuania, and Poland, established by the foreign ministers of these countries in July 2020. The foreign ministers of Ukraine, Lithuania, and Poland convened on January 29 online.
The participants in the formula agreed to coordinate measures to protect international law in the context of the Russian aggression against Ukraine, whether in tripartite coordination or in international organizations, including NATO, the United Nations, the European Union, the Council of Europe, and the Organization for Security and Cooperation in Europe.
The Crimean platform is also a new advisory and coordination form initiated by Ukraine to improve the efficiency of the international response to the occupation of Crimea, respond to the increasing security challenges, intensify international pressure on Russia, prevent further human rights violations, protect the victims of the occupying power and achieve an end to the occupation of Crimea and its return to Ukraine.
The Crimean platform is scheduled to be officially launched at the inaugural summit in Kiev on August 23, 2021.
