Construction of a line for packing ammonium nitrate bags in sling bags has started at Cherkasy Azot. The cost of the investment project is UAH 3.7 million.

It is planned that the new line will be put into operation in late March-early April. The line will be maximally automated and in the first stages will allow to pack up to 300 tons of products per day. Design and launch of the line – is part of the production and marketing strategy of the enterprise.
Sling run- three-dimensional soft packaging with which you can quickly transport large batches of products and protect the produced mineral fertilizers from the effects of atmospheric factors. The sling bag literally translates as “bag for bags”. The large package is made of laminated polypropylene, which holds 21 bags (50 kg each) and closes tightly.
“We focus on the needs of our customers, so today we pack almost all fertilizers in bags and big bags. The market of mineral fertilizers is increasingly reformatted into artificial packaging, we are obliged to adapt to the market. The launch of the new line will significantly improve our logistics capabilities, ”said Vitaliy Sklyarov, Chairman of the Management Board of PJSC AZOT.
The fact is that the products in bags require protection from atmospheric factors and are transported by rail only in specially prepared covered cars. At present, both Ukrzaliznytsia and traders are in dire need of such cars. Therefore, the company decided to establish production in a new package.
“Products in sling bags can be shipped in open gondola cars under awnings. We will be able to deliver fertilizers faster and in larger quantities, ”explains Sklyarov.
Premises for the new line are being built from scratch on the territory of the M-9 ammonium nitrate production plant. Cherkasy Azot will be the first producer of mineral fertilizers in Ukraine to offer consumers this type of packaging.
“This solution will optimize transportation costs for both manufacturers and consumers. For a farm, a sling bag is a ready-made “mini-warehouse” for fertilizers, “Sklyarov stressed.
PJSC “AZOT” is a part of the largest chemical holding in Ukraine Ostchem, which unites enterprises for the production of nitrogen fertilizers: Cherkasy “Azot”, “Rivneazot”, “Severodonetsk Association Azot”.
