Dozens of protesters gathered in the second city of Mandalay. A similar action took place in the city of Kyaukme in the northeast, where people came out with signs calling for external intervention to stop the violence.

Military coup and protests in Myanmar
Mass protests in Myanmar have been going on since early February after military countries ousted the country’s civilian leadership, led by Aung San Suu Kyi, on February 1 and declared a state of emergency for a year. The Internet is being shut down in the country because protesters are using social networks to organize new actions and events.
Aung San Suu Kyi and President Wing Myung are under arrest. The military justified its actions by allegations of manipulation in the November parliamentary elections, which were won by Suu Kyi’s party. International observers called the election free and fair. A number of countries around the world have condemned the coup and demanded the release of arrested politicians.
About 37 journalists have been arrested, including 19 who remain in custody, the UN human rights office in Geneva said on Tuesday.
At least 138 people were killed in protests in Myanmar following a February 1 military coup. Myanmar’s military junta has shut down the Internet in some cities and banned newspapers.
