The Minister of Health of Ukraine Maxim Stepanov announced that in Ukraine, there have already been 1.276 million cases of coronavirus COVID-19, a daily increase of 3.1 thousand on February 15, an increase over the day before. At the same time, in a day people recovered almost twice as much as they got sick.
“3,143 new cases of coronavirus COVID-19 have been recorded in Ukraine as of February 16, 2021,” Stepanov said.
Over the past 24hrs, the coronavirus in Ukraine was detected in 3,143 people, 150 fatalities were recorded, and 6,189 patients recovered. 915 people were hospitalized.
More people recovered in Ukraine in a day than fell ill. This trend has been observed since the beginning of January, except for a few days. But the number of deaths per day has more than doubled.
Laboratories performed 39,401 coronavirus tests per day: 18,948 of them by PCR and 11,339 by ELISA. During all this time, 6,570,806 PCR tests were conducted in Ukraine.
Most new cases were recorded in Ivano-Frankivsk (621), Chernivtsi (343), Vinnytsia (210), and Zakarpattia (204) oblasts, as well as in Kyiv (308).
During the whole pandemic in Ukraine:
sick – 1,276,618 people;
recovered – 1,122,968 people;
fatalities – 24,542;
PCR tests were performed – 6,570,806.
