Representatives of the American Heart Association (ANA) explained. That one cup of coffee a day reduces the risk of heart failure in the long term.
How was the study conducted?
Experts from ANA analyzed the nutritional data of more than 21,000 American adults from three large-scale studies. The main conclusion is that at least one cup of coffee a day has a positive effect on your heart.
However, in one of the three studies analyzed, results differed slightly. It turns out that the risk of developing heart failure is the same among people who never drink coffee and those who drink only one cup a day.
However, people who drink two or more cups of coffee reduce their risk of developing heart failure by 30%.
What are the nuances of the study?
There are problems with causation. Scientists cannot explain why coffee reduces the risk of heart failure.
Although it is not possible to prove a causal relationship, these three studies show that coffee consumption is associated with a reduced risk of developing heart failure. It also proves that coffee can be part of a healthy diet, says licensed nutritionist Penny Chris Atherton.
The study took black coffee in its pure form – without adding syrup, cream, milk, etc.

ANA warns that every organism reacts differently to coffee. It can cause insomnia, increased heart rate, and even nervousness. Therefore, it is very important to drink coffee in moderation and monitor how your body responds to it.
