Visit us today to a place that resembles ancient places in a fairytale, Kamianets-Podilskyi, a fairy-tale city that tells medieval stories.
The city was a distinguished source of inspiration for many authors until he called it the expression “flowering city on a mountain,” and this expression is the unofficial name of Kamianets.
Its bright history
The city of Kamianets is located on a stony peninsula washed by the waters of Smotrych. As the age of this city is still unknown, historians have stated that it was once home to the Trebil people. This is evident through references in the history of the mathematician Ptolemy, as well as archaeologists found in this mystical region of Roman coins in the second and third centuries.
Kamianets-Podilskyi is the only city in the world where Islamic and Christian architecture has been combined, as you can find Islamic shrines and shrines, as well as an Islamic minaret near the Peter and Paul Church.
In addition to the aforementioned monuments, Kamianets-Podilskyi is famous for its art gallery, built in the 18th century and formerly a theological school, where Stepan Rodansky and Mikhailo Dostoyevsky once studied. The art gallery now collected many monuments of Ukrainian culture, including sculptures of the 17th and 18th centuries and ancient musical instruments.
