According to the results of the 2020 local elections, four children of people’s deputies of the current convocation of the Verkhovna Rada under the age of 21 (born in 1999 or younger) became deputies of city and district councils.
Rostyslav Solid (OPZZh) became a deputy of the Kramatorsk City Council, Yaryna Aryeva (EU) – of the Kyiv City Council, Dmytro Kopanchuk ( “Servant of the People” ) of the Rudkivka City Council, and Yaroslav Velmozhny ( “Nash Krai” ) became a deputy of the Severodonetsk District Council.
A total of 49 deputies aged 18 to 21 were elected to local councils. At least two-thirds were relatives of politicians or local officials. The movement HONESTLY investigated who among the youngest deputies of local councils received a mandate and at the same time is a relative of the known politician.
Rostyslav Solid, a 19-year-old newly-elected deputy of the Kramatorsk City Council from the OPZZ, is the son of two people’s deputies of the current convocation, who also represent the OPZZ.
His mother is Natalia Korolevska, a People’s Deputy of four convocations, a participant in anti-corruption investigations, and a Greek citizen. The father of the newly elected deputy is Yuriy Solid, a People’s Deputy of the last two convocations of the Verkhovna Rada, a Greek citizen, a participant in anti-corruption investigations, and an absentee.
Commenting to reporters, Natalia Korolevska claimed that her son’s desire to go into politics arose after participating in “humanitarian missions” with her after the pandemic began.
The young deputy, among other things, declared income from cryptocurrency in the amount of 24.5 million dollars. And his monetary assets are more than ten times higher than his income. As a member of the new city council, Solod Jr. has joined the budget commission, for which every local council is fighting.
People’s parents were present during the official announcement of the party’s candidates in Kramatorsk and took part in their son’s campaign. The young politician’s father was twice elected in the “neighboring” constituency № 47 (Slovyansky district) in the parliamentary elections, which could have affected Rostislav Solod’s visibility in the region.

Deputatkoyu Kyiv City Council of the EU has become Yasmin Areva – the daughter of MP four convocations of the Supreme Council (of the “Our Ukraine” and the EU ), the former head of Ukrainian delegation to PACE Vladimir Areva. The candidate received 2,761 votes (57.8% of the quota) and became one of two deputies – relatives of politicians in the 18-21 age group, who passed the council despite an impassable place in the party lists. In the Kyiv City Council, she joined the commission on health care and social policy.
The people’s deputy’s father claimed that his daughter had spent only 500 hryvnias on the campaign, and he was personally against her decision to run. However, Arieva’s daughter campaigned in the most “comfortable” 7th constituency in Obolon, where her father twice ran for the Verkhovna Rada. It can be assumed that running in the constituency, where her name is well known to voters, was the key to electoral success.

According to the declaration, the total value of the newly elected deputy’s monetary assets is over 1 million hryvnias. In her biography on the Kyiv City Council website, the deputy noted that she worked as an analyst in the NGO Committee of Voters of Ukraine and was an activist of the EU youth wing Solidarity Youth.
Dmytro Kopanchuk, 20, became a deputy of the Rudkiv City Council (Lviv Region). He is the son of the People’s Deputy of the current convocation of the Verkhovna Rada, a participant in anti-corruption investigations Olena Kopanchuk. In his constituency, the candidate received 0 votes. This means that Dmytro Kopanchuk did not even take the opportunity to vote for himself. He got on the board due to a high place in the single list of the party (№ 2).
According to the biography for registration, Dmytro Kopanchuk is the director of EK Rashivka-Psel LLC, which is engaged in electricity generation. Until August 2019, the company was headed by his mother Olena Kopanchuk.

Olena Kopanchuk is the owner of a number of mining and energy companies. Since 2011 she has been working as a lawyer. In the Rada, she became the Deputy Chairman of the Budget Committee.
In September 2019, she and her fellow party member Serhiy Lytvynenko became the first button changers in the Servants of the People faction. Later, deputies apologized for this act during a meeting of the Council and promised to transfer their monthly salary to charity.
The father of the newly elected deputy, Volodymyr Kopanchuk, is the owner of the Bedrykivetski Sady farm and co-owner of the Kopanchuk & Partners law firm.
21-year-old unemployed Yaroslav Velmozhny became a deputy of the Severodonetsk district council (Luhansk region) from the Nash Krai party. His father – MP-hrechkosiy Sergey princes, who came to Parliament in 2019 as a self. At the time of the election, he was an adviser to the head of the Serhiy Shakhov Foundation and a member of the Nash Krai party. He later joined the Dovira group.
887 voters voted for Yaroslav Velmozhny in the constituency, which allowed the candidate to take 229.8% of the electoral quota – the highest quota result among candidates aged 18-21.
The deputy’s father actively campaigned for the party in his son’s district in 2020, which raised his rating. In particular, he was one of the VIP agitators at the party’s public conference in Rubizhne, which also featured well-known Ukrainian artists.
In addition, the constituency in which Serhiy Velmozhny managed to win the mandate of People’s Deputy in 2019 coincided with his son’s constituency in the 2020 elections to the district council (the territory of the Rubizhne City Territorial Community).
In 2019, Serhiy Velmozhny actively sowed buckwheat in the district. In particular, the residents of Rubizhne were given bags of sugar campaigning for the candidate, as well as provided free legal services from the city reception party “Nash Krai”, which was headed by the Majesty the Elder.
